My friend and I were hanging out at Navy Pier one of the first weeks that I was in Chicago. The reflection on the water from the Navy Pier lights at night were mesmerizing. As we were waiting for the fireworks that the city shoots off for free every Wednesday and Saturday night, I decided to capture the grand lights and their reflection. I used a tripod and a high aperture with the “bulb” setting as my shutter speed. Having a long shutter speed allowed me to control the amount of time the shutter was open and having a high aperture allowed me to capture a significant amount of light without loosing detail. Soon I will post fireworks from that night and from 4th of July as well!
